NON PROFIT

The core of MTCX non-profit is the continuation of the proven and longstanding programs and events started by MTCX LLC under Shaun Radley. Programming is the foundation for youth development. The hosting of local events provides a safe and healthy environment for youth/adults to test themselves, build confidence, and establish community role models. Regional and national level events contribute to the competitive development of local youth/adult athletes and solidify Missoula as an outdoor sports mecca. In short, the programming and events are the cornerstones which guide the organization toward its vision. The retail and service components of MTCX LLC will not be continued under the non profit. 

Why Transition: Transitioning to a nonprofit is an opportunity to formalize that mission & vision, establish structure for long term sustainability & success.  What started 20 years ago with running Rolling Thunder has now developed into 30+ Events and two youth sports teams.  We need more people involved and future generations to start contributing.  We would like MTCX Events and Programs to live on for the next 100 years!

Current Status: We have received our Letter of Determination and are a officially a non profit organization. MTCX Events Programs is a registered 501(c)3 Organization with an EIN of 42-3024419

How you can Help: We are currently accepting sponsorship/donations for Fall Cyclocross Season and Winter Ice Badgers season.  We are also looking for volunteer coaches for the Fall and Winter.  Please email our Programs and Events Manager, Abby Wiggin, if you’d like to get involved.  We are looking for financial help during this transition period.  Stay tuned for more details.

FAQ

How is MTCX Changing?

MTCX’s long standing events and programs will remain on the calendar for 26/27′.  We’ll continue to work on the historical MTCX schedule of programs and events.  The retail and physical location will officially be closing in the next year.

Does the organization have memberships?

We haven’t released our membership drive yet, but we will have an MTCX annual membership option.

Is there a Board of Directors?

Yes, the current Board of Directors is Jed Dennison, Toby Meierbachtol, Erica Radley,  and Anna Clark.  We also have summer and winter committees that are made up of volunteers in our community.

Are my donations tax deductible?

Yes

What about my donation through Missoula Gives?

For Missoula Gives we had a fiscal sponsor.  Go Run Missoula, fiscally sponsored the non profit and they are holding those donations until we receive the IRS letter of determination.  These donations through Missoula Gives are tax deductible.

What happened to the retail shop and MTCX LLC?

The retail location and shop will officially close on 8/1/26.

Is there paid staff?

Abby Wiggin is the Programs and Events Manager and is a paid employee.  Shaun Radley is the Executive Director.
